A London studio for music, voice and game audio.
LF Recording tracks instruments and vocals, mixes and masters releases, designs sound and produces podcasts for musicians, producers, voice-over artists and game developers.
Six channels, one room
Every project runs through the same desk. Pick a channel to solo it and see what that part of the work covers.
Instrumental and vocal recording
Tracking for bands, solo artists and session players, from a single vocal take to a full arrangement built part by part. We set up, get sounds and keep the session moving so you can concentrate on the performance.
- Vocals, guitars, bass, keys and other acoustic or electric sources
- Overdubs onto your existing session or stems
- Raw multitracks delivered at the end of the day on request
Voice-over sessions
A quiet, controlled space for reads that need to be clean and consistent: adverts, narration, explainers, e-learning and character lines for games. Directors and clients can follow along remotely if the job needs it.
- Dry, edited takes named and sliced the way your client asks
- Pickups matched to earlier sessions
- Files delivered to the format, sample rate and loudness in your spec
Mixing
Send us stems or a session from any studio and we’ll balance, shape and place every part so the song sounds like the version in your head. You hear mixes in progress and send notes until it’s right.
- Stereo mixes plus instrumental, a cappella and TV versions on request
- Stem exports for live shows, sync or remixes
- Mixes for music released to streaming, video or broadcast
Mastering
The last pass before release. We bring tone, dynamics and level into line across a single or a whole record, so it translates on headphones, car speakers and club systems alike.
- Masters for singles, EPs and albums, sequenced with consistent level
- Delivery for streaming platforms and other formats you need
- Stem mastering when the mix needs a little more control
Sound design for games and video
Effects, ambiences, interface sounds and full audio passes for trailers and promotional videos. We cut to picture, build sounds from recorded and synthesised sources, and mix the result so it lands with the edit.
- Trailer and promo video audio: effects, music edit and final mix
- In-game assets such as UI sounds, impacts and loops, named for your engine
- Ambiences and textures for scenes, menus and cutscenes
Podcast production
Record in the studio with guests around one table, or send us remote recordings to tidy up. We edit for pace and clarity, balance voices, add your intro and music, and hand back episodes ready to publish.
- In-studio recording for hosts and guests
- Editing, noise clean-up and level matching between speakers
- Episodes exported to the loudness your hosting platform expects
Who comes through the door
-
Musicians
Bands, solo artists and session players tracking demos, singles or full records, with someone at the desk who keeps the takes honest and the session on time.
-
Producers
Bring your stems for a mix, book the room to track a vocalist, or get a second set of ears on a master before it goes out.
-
Voice-over artists
A treated booth for auditions, commercial reads, narration and character work, delivered to whatever spec your agent or client sends over.
-
Game developers
Sound effects, interface audio and full mixes for trailers and promotional videos, so the first thing players hear matches what they see.
How a session runs
The same four steps whether it’s a vocal overdub or a trailer mix.
-
Send a brief
Tell us what you’re making, share references and any existing files, and let us know your deadline and delivery format.
-
Agree the session
We confirm the scope, the time and what to bring in writing before anything is booked, so there are no surprises on the day.
-
Record, mix, review
We do the work, you hear it in progress and send notes. Changes are made against those notes, not guesswork.
-
Delivery
Final files arrive labelled and in the formats you asked for: masters, stems, voice takes or ready-to-publish episodes.
